Drake Doesn't Have "50 Cent Hype"

50 Cent has a point, in my opinion. When 50 Cent first came onto the scenes, he didn't really need advertising -- he had the streets to back him up. At the end of 2002 and the beginning of 2003, the 50 Cent buzz in the streets, shopping malls, and local record stores and after all of that, he made it to the main stream. Drake is a great artist and just a few months ago he was virtually unknown and had a very underground fan base. Drake's success seems sudden and in-genuine.

I Don't Understand People's Logic; Michael Jackson's Death

First and formost, RIP Michael Jackson. He was a great performer and the greatest of all time.

Okay, time to tell what's on my mind. It's always sad to see a celebrity die. What I don't understand is the reaction of friends and co-workers that surround me. Some of these people only have heard a Michael Jackson record once or twice in their lives and some of them haven't listened to a Michael Jackson record in 10 years! When he was on trial for child molestation, most of these people doubted him and really thought he did the crime. Now these people are sad to see a legend gone? I don't see the logic.

My point, Michael Jackson has been a legend for a couple of decades now. You should have appreciated him while he was here. If you were a true fan, you shouldn't have doubted him during the trial. I can bet that most people weren't even thinking of Michael Jackson before June 25, 2009. Not even a thought, not even a record being played. You have to appreciate people while they're here. And not just celebrities, I'm talking about family and friends. There shouldn't be any regrets after a death, just happiness. Don't wait for a tragedy to happen.

Why I Decided Not To Curse Anymore

This isn't something I just decided out of the blue, there's a story behind it. About a month ago, I was spending the night out with my brother and his long time friend from Connecticut. We went to a popular little arcade/restaurant/bar/bowling alley called The Coliseum. So, my brother went to go outside to smoke a cigarrette so I headed along with them (there's a smoking section located right next to the door, the door is really important so keep this in mind.) I decided to tell a Dane Cook joke called "The Wall". As you can see, the joke starts off really profane. To make a long story short, if you listen to the link of that Dane Cook joke, once I got to the part where he says "I'll f**kin' kill you!" a little boy and his father walk out the door. I said it so loud that I was embarrassed and genuinely ashamed of myself. I realized I used to curse a lot and I knew I had to turn it down. But, instead, I decided to clean up my language to really expand my vocabulary instead of just using words like "f*ck", "sh*t", etc. It was just one of those moments that really slapped me in the face and made me realize that I needed to stop using the vocabulary of a 13-year-old kid trying to impress his high school friends.

700 NYC Teachers Paid To Do... Nothing?

"Hundreds of New York City public school teachers accused of offenses ranging from insubordination to sexual misconduct are being paid their full salaries to sit around all day playing Scrabble, surfing the Internet or just staring at the wall, if that's what they want to do."
